Who we are

Little Acorns is owned and managed by Allison Lee who has almost twenty years experience in childcare. Allison took over Little Acorns in October 2010 and she employs a dedicated and experienced team, some of whom have been working at Little Acorns since it first opened, some 15 years ago!

Allison is the author of more than ten childcare books aimed at both parents and students and she writes and tutors childcare courses for a distance learning college.

All the staff at Little Acorns work together to provide your child with the highest possible standards of childcare in an environment where children can develop and grow at their own pace. The majority of the staff hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification or NNEB equivalent.

Allison, who has two sons of her own realises the pressures that parents face and the experiences that a child and parents encounter when the choice is made to place a child in nursery. It is a huge experience and we emphasis the importance of visiting the nursery as many times as possible to guarantee a happy transition.

We provide a settling in period and, once a deposit has been secured and the registration form completed, we provide up to a week of settling in days free of charge. By doing this we believe that both children and parents can get used to the staff and be secure in the knowledge that their child is being well cared for.
